GONE SURFING

I am still stoked from my recent surfing trip to Baler (hashtag #feelingsurfer)

I have always wanted to surf or at least have a picture of me standing on a surf board for my Instagram Account :)

So, my friends and I packed our bags for a Weekend Surfing Trip to Baler, the famous surfing site in Luzon.

Before I ride the waves of Baler, I need to look at least, like a real surfer. (Syempre pang Instagram)

SURFING LESSON

Surfing lesson can be found anywhere along the beach. The instructor will basically teach you how to stand up properly on a surfboard and thats it, you are ready to ride the waves of Baler.

Me with my Instructor
Lesson No. 1. Pano Sumakay sa SurfBoard
... now its time to apply the surfing lesson I learn.

Whoa!! I think, I just forgot my lessons haha...
First attempt and I just hold on to my Surfboard as tight as I could. Sorry Instructor, I forgot the lessons.
Fail
Credit to my Photographer for this one, it lasted a second I guess. haha..
I was able to stand up finally... and fall.
... after an hour of surfing lesson, I am tired and stoked. I can't wait to try surfing again. Who knows I will got a good pic for my Instagram by then. #hoping

A trip to Baler is not limited to surfing. A tricycle ride away from Baler is the town of Maria Aurora, where you can see the famous "Millenium Tree".

We also visited Museo de Baler to see some artifacts and a little bit of history of Baler.

... or you may simply relax like me  here in Costa Pacifica Resort.

TRAVEL BY SEA TO BORACAY WITH 2GO TRAVEL

Whenever I travel in and out of my home province Polillo Island, Quezon, I travel by sea. So, SEA TRAVEL is something that is not new to me. But I have never been in a big ship and its on my bucket list to be in one.

Finally, I have experienced how fun it is to travel by sea from my recent recent trip to boracay with 2go Travel.

Besides, Caticlan (Boracay) 2go Travel destination includes Bacolod, Cebu, Tagbilaran, Cagayan De Oro, Zamoboanga and many other provinces in the Philippines. My destination is Caticlan (Boracay) onboard their ship called St. Ignatius of Loyola.

THE TICKET

My ticket cost only 1,739.98 for a roundtrip Super Value Class Accommodation to Caticlan (Boracay) from Batangas Port, that includes free meal onboard. I book my ticket thru their website, travel.2go.com.ph. No Credit Card? Don't worry, because you can use your ATM Card to purchase ticket online.

ACCOMMODATION

Traveling by sea may be longer than by plane so, comfort is a top priority. You may choose among their various ACCOMMODATIONS: Super Value, Mega Value, Tourist, Cabin and State.

I stayed in SUPER VALUE CLASS ACCOMMODATION. Its basically a bunk bed in a non-air conditioned part of the vessel, Bathroom are shared with other passengers. I am sleeping almost the entire trip to Caticlan (Boracay) so, I would say its comfortable enough :) just imagine how comfortable it would be if your staying in their cabin or state accommodation?

2go Travel really made sea travel enjoyable, comfortable and affordable. I would say its affodable luxury, "vacation mode" starts as soon as I step inside the ship.

HUNDRED ISLAND PANGASINAN

My passion for traveling probably started since my elementary days. I remember admiring the beautiful pictures of the Philippines in my "Sibika at Kultura" book in Grade One. Back then, I started to create my bucket list. The first place I crossed out from that list is BOHOL'S CHOCOLATE HILLS.

Now, I am going to crossed out another item from that list, (drum roll please) the HUNDRED ISLAND in Pangasinan.

HOW TO GET THERE

1.Take a bus to Alaminos, Pangasinan. Victory Liner, Dagupan Bus & Five Star have daily trip to Alaminos. Travel time is around 5 hours.

2.From Alaminos City, take a tricycle to Barangay Lucap, where the Tourism Information Center is loacated and the jump-off point to Hundred Island. Tricycle fare is 60.00.

ACTIVITIES

Besides Island Hopping, there are various activities you can do in Hundred Islands. Beach Bumming, diving, snorkeling, camping and kayaking.

KAYAKING IN HUNDRED ISLAND PANGASINAN
Feeling a little bit more adventurous, we rent a kayak to Island Hop. From Quezon Island, where we set up our camp, we kayak to Lopez Island and then to Marcos Island and then to Clave Island. I think we did good finishing the three island in an hour, we can only afford 1 hour rental for kayak  :))
