In
an effort to sustain the La Mesa Watershed Project, Bantay Kalikasan (Nature
Watch) of ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc., in Partnership with Metropolitan Waterworks
and Sewerage System (MWSS) and the Quezon City government, rehabilitated and
renovated the 33 hectare public park located right outside the natural
boundaries of the watershed and 40 meters below the reservoir. It was renamed
La Mesa Ecopark and reopened to the public in September 2004. All revenues
generated of the park are utilized for the continous preservation and
protection of La Mesa Watershed.
La
Mesa Eco Park is perfect venue for family outings and picnics, healthful
outdoor recreation and a true forest experience and most of all, your visit
will make a difference in saving the La Mesa Watershed the source of drinking
water of about 12 million Metro Manila residents and its forest also provides
clean air to Metro Manila.
